Discovery and Origin facts

Date of Discovery: 1860

Discoverer: Fustov Kirchoff

Name Origin: From the Latin word caesius (sky blue)

Discovered in 1860 during an analysis of Durkheim mineral water .

Can be found by heating both elements with sodium metal to 650 degrees Celcius

Metallic cesium is too hard to handle so it is distributed in azide, heated cesium.

Is a bad mix with air and water.
