Where does the word Sodium come from?

Sodium comes from the Latin word "Natrum" Which is the initial letter Na for Sodium's element symbol!

Sodium's Isolation
Sodium is not commonly used in the labratory because it is so readily found available commercially. All syntheses require an electrolytic step as it is so difficult to add an electron to the poorly electronegative sodium ion Na+. Sodium is presently known as salt (Sodium Chloride) in huge quantities underground (salt mines) and sea waters as well as other waters. It is easily recovered by drying.

Synthesis:the combining of the constituent elements of separate material or abstract entities into a single or unified entity (opposed to analysis)

Isolation: the act of seperating unwanted materials from an elements Ore

Ore: Unwanted materials

Sodium is the sixth most abundant element on the planet! as well as sodium being 2.6 % of the earths crust, Sodoium is hard to find in its natural state. Sodium was first isolated by Sir Humphry Davy in 1807 throught the electrolyists of caustic soda (NaOH).
Sodium's Atomic Structure
Sodium is used in "food salt" or seasoning food like French Fries!
Sodium is a major component to the clothing product Borax
