Experience the second World War through the eyes, words, voices and hands of the 8th grade students in Juna Kim and Julie Marren's English classes. As part of their study of literature focused on this historical period, the students were asked to create projects expressing what they had learned. Among the options available to them were art work in various mediums, interviews and podcasts with individuals who had lived during the era, films, and fictional ejournals. In addition to these projects, students were asked to create narrative writing pieces, poetry, plays and other forms of written expression. Their work as shown on this website exceeded our expectations. Please take some time to experience it. The pages(organized above by section) were created by the students outside of school and then transformed into web pages over the course of a week in the middle school lab. During this time a small group of our 8th graders was away in Edinburgh on an exchange. They have created quite similar projects using their Scottish experience as inspiration. Please enjoy all these amazing efforts. Just click on the links at the top right of the page.
